Cork Carnival of Science returns to Fitzgerald Park this June with a packed weekend of free family-friendly science shows, hands-on experiments and interactive activities. Running from 11am to 5pm each day, the festival transforms the park into a giant outdoor science playground where children can learn through fun, exploration and discovery.
Families can enjoy live science shows, circus-inspired demonstrations, workshops, experiments and interactive exhibits delivered by scientists, educators, researchers and performers from across Ireland. The programme includes appearances from Mark the Science Guy, Dr Ken’s Spectacular Circus Science Show, Science is Your Super Hero, Science Seanál and The Science of Hogwarts, alongside plenty of opportunities for children to get involved themselves.
Visitors can also explore exhibits and activities from organisations including Explorium, Fota Wildlife Park, UCC School of Chemistry, ASD Ireland, Blackrock Castle Observatory, Tyndall National Institute, Irish Bee Conservation Project, VistaMilk and BIM’s mobile classroom. Activities range from coding and engineering challenges to wildlife, sustainability and environmental science.
Alongside the science, families can enjoy street performances, garden games, food vendors and entertainment throughout Fitzgerald Park. With hundreds of interactive experiences taking place across the weekend, Cork Carnival of Science remains one of Ireland’s largest and most popular free family festivals.
