Oh, dear. Parents of children at a nursery in Houston, Texas have been criticised by staff who say they show more interest in their phones than in their child's day.

The staff posted a note on the door of the nursery last Friday asking parents to turn off their phones.

'Your child is happy to see you! Are you happy to see your child??' they asked.

The notice was posted on Facebook by mum Juliana Mazukewicz and has already been shared almost 1.5 million times with over 10,000 comments mostly in agreement.

Jacqueline Jantjies said "That's the truth. One hundred percent so true'.

Kevin Flateau said: 'Next time an ignorant parent starts a conversation with you pick up your phone and divert your attention to the phone. Then ask them how it felt. Your child is only a kid once. You need to enjoy their love of life. Look at that smile gleaming at you. It's better than anything you can show me on a phone. I have 2 smartphones but neither brings me more smiles than listening to my child tell me about something important in their world'.

'Congratulations, for letting the parents know that their children are more important,' added Norma Lozano.

"Unfortunately, those parents won't see or read the sign..text it to them," was Ron Krauss' witty reply.
