After a week when Storm Doris brought high winds and lots of rain to most of the country, it looks like we may have some nice weather to enjoy this weekend.

However, the threat of some heavy, but scattered showers will remain with wet and windy weather returning through Sunday evening into Monday.

Met Eireann predicts that Friday and Saturday will be dry over many parts of the country apart from scattered passing showers, some heavy and possibly thundery downpours. East Leinster and East Ulster will remain mostly dry on Saturday.

On Sunday, most of the showers will be on the west coast with most other areas remaining dry.

However, poor weather returns over Sunday night with rain, heavy in places, spreading from the south-west. Monday will be wet and windy throughout all areas.
