We are heading into a period of unsettled weather with a mixture of sunny spells and scattered heavy showers.
Although this morning will start with good spells of sunshine in many places, heavy showers will spread from the west bringing occasional thundery downpours during the afternoon.
Thursday and Friday will be a bright, fresh days with some sunny spells and heavy shower, some thundery.
If you are planning any outdoor activities over the weekend there will be some patchy periods of dry weather in the west but, if you are in the east and south of the country, Sunday is the best day to plan a trip out.
Saturday will be a cool, blustery day throughout the country, with some sunny spells but some further heavy showers of rain or hail will occur also with a risk of some thundery downpours.
Sunday will be mainly cloudy with scattered outbreaks of rain, heavy in parts of the west and north-west.
The east and south of the country will see the best of the weather, remaining dry with some sunny spells. Next week will start off mild and wet.
