IKEA is recalling one of their chairs sold in the Dublin store following reports of several accidents.

The Swedish company says there is a risk of customers falling off or trapping their fingers in its MYSINGSÖ seat if the user has washed the fabric and reattached it incorrectly.

Five people have already been hurt in Finland, Germany, USA, Denmark and Australia.

The firm wants anyone who has bought one to return it for a full refund, even if you do not have the receipt.

Ikea warned: "Safe products is a top priority at IKEA and all our products shall comply with international and national legislation as well as relevant standards. The MYSINGSÖ beach chair has gone through relevant mechanical, fabric and chemical tests with approved result. Upon receiving the reports a full investigation was initiated. This lead to an improved design to further mitigate the risks of incorrect re-assembly and injuries".

An updated chair will be available for sale in February, in plenty of time for the summer holidays.
