A fire in a Co. Sligo hotel last night has forced management to close the building for at least three weeks.

The fire started in the kitchen of the Ocean Sands in Inishcrone just after 3am this morning.

No one was injured in the incident and the cause of the fire is now being investigated.

The hotel said it would be up to three weeks before they are open again.

A wedding reception due to be held there today has been moved to Ballina in Co Mayo.
