    All of our events are available to book here, online, 24 hours a day. With a theatre, gallery, cinema and a lively programme of workshops and performances to take part in and attend, Mermaid is a space to create, connect and make memories.

  • Me + The Moon: Grow! Paper Collage & Construction Workshop

    Draw, cut, twist, swirl, bend, fold & paste! Join Me and The Moon at Mermaid Arts Centre to explore collage and paper construction. Exploring colour and shape we will create collages that grow and jump from your page. Ages: 4 - 12 years 11.30am & 1pm

  • BabyLovesMusic

    BabyLovesMusic is an informal concert for babies aged 0-12 months featuring 4 musicians – Tim Doyle, Kate Hearne, Anna Newell and Eamon Sweeney – with musical arrangements by The Irish Chamber Orchestra’s, Malachy Robinson.

  • Beautiful Beautiful Bugs! - Cruinniú na nÓg 2025

    Come and create a Beautiful Beautiful Bug of your very own. Paul Timoney is a bug builder with decades of experience attaching sticky eyes to cartons. So relax, create and have fun with recycled materials. Free, drop-in event. Suitable for children. 2-4pm

  • The Speks (2pm & 4pm)

    The Speks present a lively show of nursery rhymes and sing-along songs set to acoustic Irish music! Their hand-clapping, toe-tapping show is all about life on Glasses Island – a magical island off Co. Clare where everybody wears glasses! Fun for ages 2-92

  • East Coast Dance Arts: Live

    Performances from the festival Dance Intensive will be shown, featuring choreography from Rafael Molina, Penny Diamantopoulou, and special guest former Artistic Director and Principal Dancer with the Martha Graham Dance Company, Christine Dakin.

Mermaid Arts Centre is County Wicklow’s creative engine-room. With a theatre, gallery, cinema, café and a lively programme of events to enjoy and participate in, we're a home for artists and artistic communities to create, connect and make memories.

Our purpose is driven by a fundamental belief in the power of shared experience and connection in combatting loneliness and isolation among people, and in the right to freedom of artistic expression and creation for all.

Gallery

Our airy and bright gallery has a total floor space of 165sq meters. It hosts on average 8-10 exhibitions per annum. It can also accommodate small-scale corporate functions, to make a booking please contact [email protected]

How to Get Here

Mermaid is located at Bray’s Civic Centre, just off Bray Main Street next to Bank of Ireland.

Parking

Free underground parking is available for the duration of evening and weekend shows.

To access this, upon turning in from the Main Street, follow the road around to the right directly behind the Civic Offices building. The underground car park is on your left hand side halfway down this road. Please note that unfortunately this carpark is not open to customers during the day Monday to Fridays.
 

Daytime During the Week

On weekdays during the day the only option for parking is the pay & display private car-park immediately on your left hand side when you turn in off the Main Street. 

The surface car park in front of the Mermaid is Pay and Display, please do not use the surface car park without paying as regular clamping is in operation. Mermaid Arts Centre has no association with this car park.
