Brigit: Dublin City Celebrating Women 2026 Brigit: Dublin City Celebrating Women returns for its fifth edition from Friday 30th January to Monday 2nd February, bringing a city wide programme celebrating women’s creativity, heritage and influence across Dublin. Rooted in the legacy of Brigit and reimagined for a contemporary city, the festival invites people to gather, reflect and take part in shared cultural experiences across museums, libraries, galleries, public spaces and neighbourhood venues. Across the four days, the programme includes talks, performances, walks, workshops, music, visual art and participatory events exploring history, folklore and modern life through a female lens. Highlights include guided tours, exhibitions, creative workshops, storytelling, film screenings and large scale public moments, with many events designed to be accessible, welcoming and community focused. Among the standout events is the Rebel Women Guided Tour at the GPO Museum, running on Friday 30th and Saturday 31st January. This specially researched tour explores the lives and voices of women who shaped Irish history from 1916 onwards, shining a light on the Suffrage, Labour and Republican movements, the Cultural Revival and the women at the heart of them. The tour lasts approximately one hour and offers an in depth look at the role women played in shaping modern Ireland.
