Skerries Midsummer Festival returns across the June bank holiday weekend with four days of live music, family activities, beach events and festival entertainment taking place around the seaside town. The heart of the festival will once again be the Festival Village on the South Strand, featuring a full funfair, street food stalls and live performances throughout the weekend.
Families can enjoy funfair rides, beach activities, community events and live music across the seafront, with the annual Sandcastle Competition taking place on Saturday from 12pm to 3pm. Water safety demonstrations from the RNLI will also take place during the weekend, alongside visits to the RNLI lifeboat shop on the strand.
Saturday evening includes live music from DJ Clyde followed by a fireworks display at 10pm, while Sunday features the Battle of the Bands in aid of Skerries Youth Services and the second annual Skerries Skate Bowl event in Mills Park. The skate event includes lessons, competitions, live music, prizes and performances throughout the afternoon and evening.
Bank Holiday Monday brings discounted rides during the morning Happy Hour session, alongside live music from the Abba Sisters performing by the sea later in the afternoon.
With music, fireworks, skateboarding, food stalls, beach activities and family entertainment running throughout the weekend, Skerries Midsummer Festival once again promises a lively June bank holiday atmosphere along the coast.
