The Five Lamps Arts Festival returns to Dublin’s north inner city for its nineteenth year, bringing a wide-ranging programme of theatre, music, dance, visual art, film and community events to venues across the area. Rooted in local culture and creativity, the festival continues to celebrate the character of the neighbourhood while welcoming audiences from across the city and beyond.
This year’s programme includes exhibitions, guided tours, live performances, comedy, poetry and dance, alongside workshops in storytelling, singing and songwriting. From Charleville Mall Library and the Sean O’Casey Theatre to Dublin Port and the International Centre for the Image, the festival uses a mix of familiar and unexpected spaces to present work that reflects both local history and contemporary life.
Family audiences are also well catered for, with events designed to welcome children and younger visitors into the festival. Highlights include music and performance events, interactive dance experiences and a Family Day Out at Mud Island Community Garden, which brings together live music, circus acts, workshops and an arts and crafts market as part of the closing weekend.
With its mix of community spirit, artistic ambition and accessible programming, the Five Lamps Arts Festival remains one of the capital’s most distinctive cultural events, offering plenty to explore across its ten-day run.
