An Daingean Festival

Daingean comes alive this August Bank Holiday weekend with a fun-filled family festival running from Friday 1st to Monday 4th August. The celebrations kick off on Friday evening with Reeling in the Years at Daingean Town Hall, featuring nostalgic video highlights from past festivals in the 80s and 90s. There’s also music each night on the Festival Music Trail, including 90s rock at the Gaelic Bar on Friday and a trad session at The Grove on Saturday. Saturday morning begins with the Mountlucas Parkrun, open to all ages with babies and buggies welcome, followed by festival treats. That afternoon, the Playground Celebration takes over Daingean Town Hall from 12pm to 3pm, packed with puppet shows, dancing, face painting, games and more in aid of Molesworth Bridge Playground. Later, the Grand Canal Wheelers host a Slow Bike Race outside the National School – with free entry and a prize for last place, it’s a great laugh for over 10s and adults alike. Sunday brings the Mini Maroons Parade and GAA tournament, starting with a march from the Town Hall at 12pm. The music...
