Kilkenny Arts Festival

Kilkenny Arts Festival returns from 8–17 August 2025, once again transforming the medieval heart of Kilkenny into a celebration of music, performance, and creativity. Since 1974, this much-loved festival has drawn some of the world’s most exceptional artists to the city, offering audiences rare and intimate experiences in beautiful and historic settings. From the grandeur of St Canice’s Cathedral to the secret charm of city gardens, the Festival is known for matching unforgettable performances with extraordinary venues. At its core is a world-class classical music programme, led by the Irish Chamber Orchestra and featuring collaborations with leading Irish and international artists. Recent editions have welcomed the likes of Sir András Schiff, Alina Ibragimova, Les Arts Florissants and many more. The Marble City Sessions, curated by Irish fiddle master Martin Hayes, offers a vibrant fusion of musical styles, while theatre, literature, dance and street performances fill courtyards, castle grounds, churches and alleyways.
