The Lapland Express returns this Christmas with a heartwarming festive train ride through the beautiful County Down countryside. Families are invited to climb aboard the heritage diesel train and enjoy a 45-minute journey from Downpatrick to Inch Abbey, complete with Christmas treats, songs and entertainment from Santa, Mrs Claus and their team of cheerful elves.
Children will meet Santa at their seats and receive a plush toy gift, while everyone enjoys interactive magic, stories and plenty of festive fun on board. The Downpatrick station and carriages are decorated with lights and garlands, creating a cosy atmosphere to celebrate the season.
Trains run on weekends from late November to 21st December, with departures throughout the afternoon. Tickets include refreshments and a gift for every child, with free admission for eligible carers and infants under 12 months.
A timeless Christmas experience for families to enjoy together on Ireland’s only heritage railway Santa train.
