The impact for good or ill, of the Church of Ireland, on the Irish language
Speakers: Mr Justin Scannell & Dr Connor McCabe of the Irish Guild of the Church of Ireland.
Connor is an Assistant Professor in UCD’s School of Irish, Celtic Studies & Folklore, where he lectures in Modern Irish and Irish Studies. He is a linguist by training, with a PhD on Irish phonetics from TCD awarded in 2023. He is on the committee of Cumann Gaelach na hEaglaise and previously conducted regular Irish-language services of Evening Prayer at TCD with the Church of Ireland chaplaincy.
