Fota Wildlife Park has announced that its popular Panoramic Wheel will remain in place for the summer season. Originally planned as a short-term feature, the towering attraction has proved such a hit with visitors that it’s now staying for the holidays.
Standing 35 metres high, the Panoramic Wheel at Fota Wildlife Park offers a unique perspective on the park’s 100-acre grounds. From the top, visitors can enjoy sweeping views of the cheetah run, bison paddocks and savannah plains, as well as the giraffes, zebras and other free-roaming species below.
Beyond the park, the wheel gives a clear view across Cork Harbour and the surrounding landscape, including Fota Island, Belvelly Castle and the Great Island Channel. It’s a chance to take in the park’s setting and appreciate its role in both conservation and heritage.
The experience also highlights Fota’s sustainability efforts, with glimpses of solar panels and eco-focused developments like the giraffe house and the Education, Conservation and Research Centre.
It’s a new way to see the park’s impact from above.
The Panoramic Wheel is an optional, paid-for attraction, with tickets available from a separate booth on site. Prices start from €5, making it an easy and exciting addition to any family day out this summer.
