There is a huge 260 foot slide down Winetavern Street in Dublin city centre this weekend and even the new Lord Mayor Brendan Carr had a go while still wearing the Great Chain of Office.

The five foot wide, two lane inflatable slide runs from the arch of Christchurch Cathedral right down to the base of the hill.

The Big Slide Home event is in association with 98fm, HB and Dublin City Council and you have to tune in to the station if you want to head along.
If you are visiting the city for other reasons don't forget that to facilitate the event, Winetavern St will be closed to traffic until midnight on Sunday.
