Skerries Mills Harvest Celebration

Skerries Mills celebrates harvest time with a free family weekend featuring the harvesting of barley in its Crop Field, weather permitting, alongside craft demonstrations, stalls, displays and activities for all ages.

There will be live music on Saturday afternoon, children’s crafts and face painting, with Skerries Mills Farmers Market taking place on Saturday and a small craft market on Sunday. Food vendors will also be on site throughout the weekend.

Tales From Acorn Wood

Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s Tales from Acorn Wood comes to The Pavillions in Dun Laoighre this week, bringing Fox, Rabbit, Pig, Hen and Postman Bear to the stage with puppetry, toe-tapping songs and plenty of fun for young children. 

Oughterard Show

The Oughterard Show returns for its 61st year with agricultural competitions, demonstrations and family entertainment at the Corribdale Grounds and Community Centre. Visitors can enjoy classes featuring horses, ponies, cattle, sheep, dogs and poultry, along with domestic arts, children’s activities and displays celebrating local talent.

Combining rural heritage, community spirit and family fun, it promises a great day out for all ages.

Bantry Show

Bantry Agricultural Show celebrates its 30th anniversary this Sunday with a packed day of agricultural competitions, family entertainment and activities overlooking Bantry Bay. Horses, ponies, cattle, sheep and goats will compete across a range of classes, alongside dog shows, arts and crafts competitions and fashion shows.

Families can also enjoy bouncy castles, pony riding, children’s entertainment, food stalls and trade stands, with free shuttle buses operating from Bantry town.

Musical Picnic
Dublin | 29th August, 2026

The National Concert Hall hosts a family Musical Picnic this Saturday with live music and activities for younger audiences. Families can arrive early to meet the musicians, try out instruments and enjoy musical face painting before The Echo Band takes to the stage at 1pm.

The interactive concert will feature family favourites with a jazz twist, with under-threes admitted free and optional picnics also available.
