Voted the number one thing to do in Carlow by Tripadvisor and described as "An Oasis of Peace and Tranquility", Delta sensory gardens are set on a 2.5 acre site on the outskirts of Carlow Town. The gardens have so much to offer the visitor during all the seasons of year, from the bright and beautiful daffodils and tulips in Spring to the breathtaking colours of the autumnal foliage. Delta Centre also runs a busy garden centre with a wide range of planted containers, pots, seasonal bedding, shrubs, plants and gardening accessories. There is a restaurant and coffee shop on site, serving from breakfast to carvery lunch and right through to afternoon tea. The main building in the gardens houses a reception, toilet facilities, indoor fountain room, activities room and meeting room, plus a new cafe and craft area. Halloween and Christmas are very busy times at the Delta Sensory Gardens with our annual Halloween and Christmas events. These events have proven to be extremely popular with visitors. We hope to expand our annual events on an ongoing basis to offer a bigger and better experience to our visitors during these special times of the year. Gardens The gardens are now a major tourist attraction in Carlow for local, national and international visitors. There are currently six local people employed in the gardens plus a manager. Features areas include Peace Garden, Patio Garden, Willow Garden, Mediterranean Garden, The Woodland Walk, The Roof Garden among others. The gardens are fully wheelchair accessible and have proven to be a very popular place to visit for active retirement groups, families, school trips and bus tours. Cafe From breakfast and lunch right through to afternoon tea, the Cafe is relaxing, spacious and provides a fine array of choices, all freshly prepared on site. Locally sourced produce is prepared using the centre’s fully equipped commercial kitchen. The cafe, gardens and gift shop is open 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday and 11am to 5.30pm weekends and public holidays.
