Cork Folk Festival 2025 – A Trad Celebration with Heart and Heritage
The Cork Folk Festival returns from 2–5 October with over 40 live events, jam-packed with traditional music, song and storytelling. Now in its 46th year, the festival will take over venues across the city, from cosy pubs and historic churches to theatres, streets and community spaces.
Highlights this year include concerts from Flook, Matt Molloy, Lisa Knapp, and Shaskeen, a special Jackie @ 80 tribute, and the ever-popular Festival Club at The Oliver Plunkett. Expect lively céilís, sean nós sessions, walking tours, music workshops and free trad events dotted around town, including family-friendly sessions at Elizabeth Fort and City Music Library.
Musicians from across Ireland and beyond will take to the stage – from emerging talent like Éimhear Flannery to festival regulars like Matt Cranitch, Jackie Daly and the Four Star Trio. Don’t miss community events like Gals at Play, the Douglas Céilí Mór, and the Folk Fest in the Fort afternoon with choirs and ballad groups.
Tickets for selected shows are available via Triskel Arts Centre and participating venues, with weekend passes offering great value. Whether you’re a lifelong folk fan or just looking to soak up the atmosphere, Cork Folk Festival offers the perfect blend of music, heritage and local spirit.
