Celebrate Summer by the Sea at Coastival 2025 Coastival makes a lively return to Dún Laoghaire from 5–13 July, bringing a full week of seaside fun, local culture and family-friendly events to the town. Organised by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, the popular summer festival blends art, history, sailing, music and hands-on activities for all ages. Things kick off on Saturday 5 July with the Family Fun Day at dlr LexIcon from 11am to 4pm, promising a packed afternoon of puppet shows, music, games and creative workshops for children. That evening, Dublin Bay Cruises will host a scenic Dalkey Island and Killiney cruise, offering visitors a fresh perspective on the south Dublin coastline. Sunday’s programme takes to the skies with Atmosphere – a balloon, kite and flight-themed celebration at Newtownsmith. Families can enjoy stunt kite displays and make their own designs in the kite workshop, while the Kid’s Zone, Sensory Express Bus and beach games offer even more ways to join the fun.
