Galway will have a St Patrick’s Day parade in 2023 with what is shaping up to be the largest St Patrick’s Day spectacle the city has ever seen. Galway City Council is expected to organise a series of events over the course of the bank holiday weekend in March from 17th to the 19th March 2023, to celebrate Ireland’s national holiday.
St. Patrick's Day Parade, Galway, 2023, 11:30am
The 2023 parade will be led by two fantastic grand marshals in an open top bus. Connacht Rugby Director of Rugby, Andy Friend who has been a great ambassador for Galway since his arrival in 2018, and 11 year old Saoirse Ruane who has helped to collect millions of euro for cancer research since her appearance on the Late Late Toy Show in 2020 will both lead the parade through Galway City.
The parade starts at 11.30am and runs through Galway city centre for over 1 hour.

The revised parade route (first used in 2019) is expected remain in place for 2023, with participants marching from University Road, over the Salmon Weir Bridge, to Eglinton Street and onwards past the viewing stand at Eyre Square and concluding on Prospect Hill.
