Birr Castle Christmas
The new Christmas Express at Birr Castle Demesne promises a magical festive experience for families this Christmas 2025 . Start your journey at the Visitor Centre, where cheerful elves will greet you and present your train ticket. Before departure, children can enjoy crafts and a cosy Christmas movie in the Copper Tree Gallery.
Once aboard, the train winds through the scenic castle grounds before arriving at Mrs Claus’s kitchen, where she’ll be baking cookies and telling festive tales. The experience ends with a special visit to Santa in the warmth of the castle itself, offering a perfect setting for photos and Christmas memories.
Each ticket includes a festive refreshment voucher, and families arriving before 4pm can also explore the wider demesne, including gardens, galleries and play areas. Pre-booking is essential and early arrival is recommended to enjoy the full experience.
