Kilkenny Animated is a new festival of visual storytelling, hosted by Cartoon Saloon, in Kilkenny city between Feb 23 & 25.

Cartoon Saloon are a locally based animation studio who have been nominated twice for Oscars with their films, The Secret of Kells, and more recently, Song of the Sea. They are assembling an amazing line-up of speakers and activities for this new festival.

There will be exhibitions of cartoonists and illustrators; standup comedy with animation, screenings, city projections, dance, workshops & graffitti.

Join some of the world's finest animators, cartoonists and illustrators for a weekend of fascinating events about all elements of the visual creation.

Featured in the line-up are screenings of animated films, an exhibition of cartoons and illustrations, as well as workshops for professionals and beginners. There is also going to be a helping of stand-up comedy, dance, and live graffiti displays. 

To top it all off, there’s a going to be talks from the likes of cartoonist Nick Galifianakis, Speedbump creator Dave Coverly, Sligo illustrator Annie West and Sweden artist Mattias Adolfsson.

It’s truly a line-up not to miss, and one that will inspire the illustrators and cartoonists of the future
