Funderland

Funderland has returned to Centre Park Road near Páirc Uí Chaoimh for another season of outdoor thrills. The Kilfenora Traditional Music Festival returns to North Clare with a lively programme of céilís, concerts, sessions, workshops and CD launches. A highlight of the trad calendar, the festival brings together musicians and dancers for a weekend steeped in music and community spirit.

Saturday night’s headline concert in the Community Hall features the renowned Máirtín O’Connor Band, joined by Cathal Hayden, Seamie O’Dowd and Jim Higgins, with support from rising harp talent Aoife Ní Chonghaile. With events taking place across the village, it’s set to be another toe-tapping weekend in the Burren.

Puffin Rock Habitats Exhibition

Puffin Rock Habitats is an immersive exhibition for young children and families, running at The Ark in Temple Bar. Guided by Oona and Baba from the beloved Puffin Rock series, visitors explore four vibrant habitats—Marine, Intertidal, Grassland and Wetland—through playful sensory activities and hands-on discovery.

Created by the Heritage Council and Cartoon Saloon, the exhibition introduces the plants and animals of Puffin Rock while encouraging a deeper understanding of Ireland’s biodiversity. With its mix of storytelling, learning and fun, it’s a gentle call to care for nature in our own communities.

Experience Japan Festival Day

Celebrate Japanese–Irish culture with a day of music, food and tradition at the Experience Japan Hanami Festival, returning to the beautiful grounds of Farmleigh House in Phoenix Park. This free, family-friendly event brings together performances, workshops and cultural experiences under the blooming cherry blossoms.

The programme includes live music and dance on the main stage, martial arts demonstrations, a craft area with calligraphy workshops and haiku readings beneath the trees. Families can enjoy a treasure hunt, sample authentic Japanese street food and explore cosplay and language zones.

Clifden Traditional Music Festival

Clifden comes alive this weekend as the Traditional Music Festival returns for its 14th year, celebrating the best of Irish music in the heart of Connemara.

From the opening concert and lively pub session trail on Friday, the weekend is packed with events and activities including workshops, a busking competition, a 5K run and walk, street performances, Saturday night’s open air concert on Market Square, a Traditional Music Mass on Sunday and a farewell session to close the weekend on a high note.

Superhero Brunch
