Crag Cave
Crag Cave is a natural limestone show cave, discovered in 1983 and thought to be over one million years old.
We are located in Castleisland the gateway to County Kerry, just 2 kilometres from Killarney, 19 kilometres from Tralee and 8 kilometres from Kerry Airport.
We are proud to be one of the county’s premier visitor attractions. The cave itself is a magical wonderland of stalagmites & stalactites.
This natural all weather attraction has dramatic sound & lighting effects with all tours being fully guided and take approximately half an hour. Crag Cave will delight & enthral all ages and our friendly guides will be pleased to explain the origins of the cave describe its beautiful formations and introduce visitors to a world older than mankind.
Recently we have added a unique Birds of Prey attraction hosted by Kingdom Falconry. This offers a unique opportunity to get up close & personal with a variety of majestic and awe-inspiring birds of prey – hawks, falcons and owls.
Watch the Falcons fly and stoop to the lure with amazing dexterity and speed; watch hawks glide in at close range and be amazed at the grace and soundless motion of the owls and their individual personalities. The display lasts between 45 minutes and 1hour.
Our Visitors Centre is home to our Garden Restaurant & extensive Gift Shop which seats 100 people. The Garden Restaurant is renowned for its delicious home baking, hot meals, light lunches, healthy salads & tasty treats. The Gift shop offers great value in Irish souvenirs, toys, fashion, jewellery & lots more. Large car/coach park & free WIFI on site also.
We are also home to Crazy Cave – The Kingdom’s No.1 House of Fun. Crazy Cave is a large children’s softplay indoor & outdoor adventure centre. It is a three tired play area with mega astra slides, ball pools, spiral slides, funball battle cannons, rodeo bull, climbing wall and much much more.
With these attractions in one location, Crag Cave has something for everyone. Ideal for a full day trip, short visit or just a coffee stop.
