Cavan Arts Festival returns for its ninth year with four days of music, theatre, comedy, dance, circus performances and workshops taking place across Cavan town. The festival brings together local, national and international artists, with events running from Thursday 14th to Sunday 17th May across venues including Townhall Arts Centre, Con Smith Park and Cavan Institute.
A strong family programme takes place throughout the weekend, particularly in Con Smith Park where free outdoor performances and activities run across both Saturday and Sunday. Families can enjoy circus shows, storytelling, live music, workshops and interactive performances throughout the day, alongside food areas and creative activities.
Highlights include the Carnival School Community Parade, a colourful Pedal Parade as part of Bike Week, hula hoop workshops, animation sessions and performances from international circus artists. Children can also enjoy skate jams, music performances and family-friendly entertainment taking place throughout the festival grounds.
Alongside the outdoor programme, the festival also features live concerts, comedy, theatre performances, exhibitions and community arts projects, creating a lively atmosphere across the town throughout the weekend.
