Feile Thraidisiúnta Chnoc Fola
Feile Thraidisiúnta Chnoc Fola is an intimate celebration of the crafts and traditions of the Donegal Gaeltacht.
For the last 30 years, the festival has brought the community together to show off the best the area has to offer. Tourists stop by, and enjoy life at a slower pace, in this place where arts, culture and language remain acutely important.
People will gather at the thatched Teach Mhuiris, a 150-year old cottage with stunning sea views, and dance, sing, play, recite, and craft. You’ll see people spinning wool, creating the ideal fibres for that world-famous Donegal tweed or perhaps even basket weaving.
There will be fresh products to buy, like salty mussels, pulled straight from the seabed and local eggs, potatoes and conserves. That’s one way to make your weekly grocery shop a little more fun.
If struck by the hunger at Teach Mhuiris, freshly baked scones will be temptingly moreish and lobsters massive and delicious. You won’t be able to resist.
Don’t miss this belter of a little festival. Small and perfectly formed, it will probably be the highlight of your summer.
