All Shucked Up! Howth Guinness, Oyster and Music Festival
All Shucked Up! Howth Guinness, Oyster and Music Festival returns for its second year, bringing a weekend of oysters, live music and Guinness to the coastal village of Howth. Following the success of its debut, the festival once again celebrates the area’s strong food and music culture, with events taking place across venues throughout the village and on Howth Hill .
The programme includes more than 25 free gigs and sessions spread across seven venues, each with its own musical focus. Expect acoustic sets at The Harbour Bar, rhythm and blues at McNeill’s, jazz performances at Wrights Findlater, bluegrass sessions at O’Connells and rock shows at The Bloody Stream. The festival also features appearances from The Howth Gospel Choir and a closing celebration titled The Last Shuck, bringing musicians together for a final performance.
Headline performances take place at The Abbey Tavern and The Summit Inn. Friday night sees Leslie & Flo present Natural Women at The Abbey Tavern. Saturday evening features multi platinum artist Betty Boo at The Summit Inn, while Sunday night closes with Jack Lukeman, one of Ireland’s best known male vocalists, performing at The Abbey Tavern.
Alongside the free programme, a small number of ticketed headline shows take place at The Abbey Tavern and The Summit Inn. The Abbey Tavern also hosts the Howth Oyster Shucking Championships and the East Coast Oyster Shucking Championships, with both events acting as qualifiers for larger competitions. Food focused events include an oyster masterclass led by chef and oyster expert Sarah Browne, as well as family friendly coastal foraging with Howth Foraging .
Restaurants and bars across Howth take part by serving oysters and signature dishes throughout the weekend, creating a village wide festival atmosphere. With most events free to attend and a broad mix of music, food and family friendly activities, All Shucked Up! offers a relaxed way to experience Howth at its liveliest
