Mid-Kerry Biddy's Festival
A weekend of fun and events centered around the famous Biddy's Parade on Saturday at 7pm from the Fishery to the Fair Field.
An effigy of St Bridget will be paraded through town, where she will be honoured with dance & song.
The firelight procession will make its way up through Killorglin town centre. Other events over the weekend include Crossmaking and Lantern making on Friday, a workshop hub on Saturday from 11-2 in Boyle's Old Shop, a Ceramic making workshop on on Saturday in Blue Bird Pottery, music all weekend and lots more.
The Biddies can be traced back to pre christian times. In 2019, the Mid Kerry were one of 30 cultural practices granted protection by the Irish state.
