The Lafcadio Hearn Japanese Gardens are set in the beautiful seaside town of Tramore, County Waterford, Ireland. These entrancing gardens reflect the life and extensive wanderings of Patrick Lafcadio Hearn (Koizumi Yakumo), who grew up in Ireland, and whose life journey embraced several parts of the world.
Now in its seventh year, the Enchanted Garden is one of the most exciting Winter Light Events in Ireland and is held annually in December and over the Christmas season.
Tramore’s unique Japanese Gardens are lit at night by a sea of twinkling lights, animal sculptures and dramatic tree and foliage lighting, all creating a magical winter wonderland.
Visitors young and old are mesmerised as they walk through the gardens and are greeted at every turn by stunning displays.
The Winter fairy regularly pays a visit to the garden woodlands and adults and children may be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of her walking over the bridge or by the pond.
Family and Friends can warm their hands by the open fire and enjoy takeaway tea, coffee hot chocolate and Gluhwein as they follow the paths on a one way system through two acres of light features.
The Victorian Garden adds old world charm to the experience and will fuel the imagination for all who visit. This event is suitable for Adults and Children of all age groups.
