Science Week

Science Week returns from 10–16 November 2025 to celebrate its 30th anniversary with the theme Then. Today. Tomorrow. Managed by Research Ireland, the festival marks three decades of curiosity, creativity and collaboration across the country. From hands-on workshops to public talks and exhibitions, events in Dublin, Galway, Cork and beyond will showcase how science shapes our world past, present and future.
Puffin Rock Habitats

Puffin Rock Habitats is a free self-guided exhibition for children and families at Mermaid Arts Centre, running Monday to Saturday until 4th January 2026. Join Oona and Baba on a playful exploration of Puffin Rock’s natural world, discovering marine, intertidal, grassland and wetland habitats through sound, texture and storytelling. A gentle and engaging journey into the world of nature for young explorers.
The Speks

The Speks bring their lively mix of nursery rhymes and Irish tunes to life in a fun-filled show that will have audiences clapping, dancing and singing along. Set on the magical Glasses Island off the coast of Clare, this award-winning band blends traditional sounds with playful storytelling in a show often described as “Riverdance for kids” that is perfect for ages 2 to 92.
Tree Top Night Lights

Step into the magic of the forest after dark with Treetop Night Lights at Beyond the Trees Avondale. Wander through the illuminated treetop walkway and discover glowing woodland creatures, sparkling baubles and stunning light displays high above the forest floor. Open from 4pm to 8pm on selected evenings, this accessible experience invites families and friends to enjoy a peaceful winter adventure surrounded by nature’s night-time beauty.
