Biophilia - National Botanic Gardens (Jan 4, 11, 18, 25)
As part of the First Fortnight Festival, the National Botanic Gardens are delighted to bring you a very special Biophilia Guided Walk. It is believed that humans have evolved to have an instinctive bond with nature, one which our increasingly urbanised life threatens to disrupt. Ring in the New Year with a brisk stroll around the Gardens and learn about the effect that plants have on our physical and mental states as well as the social benefits this exposure brings to us.
Spending time in nature has been proven as a great way to boost your mental health. It's been shown to lower stress, blood pressure and heart rate as well as improving your sense of wellbeing. On January 19th Airfield Estates will be hosting a series of walk and talks to give you the chance to take some time out to reconnect with nature. Join others for a gentle stroll around our beautiful ornamental gardens and through our woodlands, while taking in our working farm and heritage museum.
