Galway Atlantaquaria, is ideally located alongside the midway point of the Wild Atlantic Way in Salthill promenade, Galway. It offers visitors a unique, interactive insight into the diversity of aquatic species that are found in Irish waters.
With a stunning view of Galway Bay, and located beside local icons like the ‘Salthill Promenade’, ‘Circle of Life’ Garden and Blackrock Diving Tower, there is so much more to see and do in Salthill.
Visitors can enjoy a truly immersive & engaging ocean experience, walking around two floors of exhibits designed to reflect the maritime history of Galway. Highlighted exhibits include a 60 foot Fin Whale skeleton, Bearna Log boat (dugout canoe) Red Deer Antlers and Uí Breasail (Hy Brasil) boat.
Our featured species include over one hundred sea animals from our rivers & sea, so visitors can learn more about our native sharks, Lobsters, Jellyfish, Conger eels, Bass, European Minnows and Octopus.
Our Aquarists offer many tours and interactive feeding experiences throughout the day.
Galway Atlantaquaria is fully accredited with the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA), so visitors can be assured they are seeing the very best of professional standards in animal welfare, education, conservation and practice.
