Star-B-Q
Our Star-B-Q is Ireland's biggest star party and telescope festival.
This year it will be held on August 27th in An Tochar GAA grounds in Roundwood, Co. Wicklow. (We are supporters and sponsors of this club)
It's an all day event featuring:
A full professionally catered barbecue by a leading caterer
Amazing talks about space and astronomy
Rocket launches by The Irish Rocketry Society
Laser guided tour of the night sky
Exhibitors and trade stands
Creation Station for the kids
And the best part... A field full of the largest and most powerful telescopes in Ireland so everyone can see the wonders of the universe. (This part can go on until well into the night)
This is our 30th year running this event, it has gone from a small gathering of astronomy enthusiasts with their own barbecues to a major public event for
everyone in all 32 counties.
