Bunratty castle is a beautiful, historic medieval castle that is built on an old Viking camp. Its fascinating to walk around the castle and imagine what it would have been like to have lived there/worked there or perhaps even jailed there!!! My kids loved the experience – their imaginations were set on fire and we have some lovely artwork as reminders of our trip!
The folk park is a reconstruction of a village in Ireland 100 years ago – you can walk around the cottages representing how people lived & businesses that they ran. It’s a really good experience, and helps bring the reality of the “olden times” to the children and to ourselves - prices are their online prices - have fun!!!

Really great castle as in keeping with old traditions, stone staircases etc little village of cottages with real turf fires, we had a tour guide who explained each room of the castle, only downside most of it is outdoors, it was raining the day we were there, and we rushed though the village, we had food in one of the pubs onsite it was warm inside with turf fire and staff were great, would have loved to visit again when weather didnt dampen the fun
Very interesting. Loads to see and do. Highly recommend
