Fingal Festival of History comes to Newbridge House What: The Fingal Festival of History When: Friday 29th September – Sunday 1st October Where: Newbridge House, Donabate Admission: Free As part of Fingal County Council’s Creative Ireland programme, a The Fingal Festival of History will take place between Friday, September 29 and Sunday, October 1 in the magnificent Newbridge House, Donabate. Everyone is invited to re-live the events of 100 years ago, especially those connected to the 1916 Rising. Organised by Fingal Libraries, admission is free over the entire festival. Talks and events will centre on historical Fingal figures such as the Kettle Family, who made their mark on Irish Society, and Thomas Ashe, as Brian Arnold looks at his legacy on the centenary year of his death. Dónal Fallon will examine the strange connections between Irish nationalism and Russian Bolshevism in this revolutionary period during his talk, Ireland and the Bolsheviks: What did the Russian Revolution mean for us? Hugh O’Donnell will looks at the role of 1916 as a key fulcrum...
