Live in the Marquee | Cardonagh
Friday 11th - Sunday 13th July 2025, The Diamond, Carndonagh Each summer, the centre of Carndonagh comes to life with Live in the Marquee, a three-day festival of music, community events and family-friendly fun. Held in The Diamond, the event is organised by Carndonagh Traders Association CLG and has become a much-anticipated part of the town’s July calendar. The weekend typically features children’s entertainment during the day and live music in the evening, with three different bands performing each night under the marquee. Previous years have seen a wide range of activities including outdoor bingo, a Tug of War between local pubs and the ever-popular Soapbox Derby, where homemade karts race for glory through the streets. There’s usually a Malin Street Ball Drop, where over a thousand numbered balls are released from the top of the hill — with prizes for the first few to cross the finish line. Local dance groups perform in the marquee, with everything from Irish dancing to hip hop. There’s even a chance to join in some line dancing, just for fun....
