Dracula author, Bram Stoker lived on Buckingham Street for longer than any other place in Dublin. So, we’re bringing Bram home with The Big Scream which returns for its biggest year yet.
Festival frights and delights for young and old include scary movie screenings, Gothic torchlit walking tours, a psychic encounter, launch of guide to Bram Stoker’s North Inner City, Halloween craft workshops, dress-up bingo with Count Dracula, doggie costume competition, Boo at Ballybough! public interview with Dacre Stoker, wicked afternoon teas and a World Record attempt to be the biggest group of people dressed a vampires!
THE MAIN SPECTACLE ON THE SPOOKIEST NIGHT OF THE YEAR WILL BE A CARNIVAL-STYLE CELEBRATION ON SEÁN McDERMOTT STREET WHERE FAMILIES ARE INVITED TO ENJOY THE FESTIVITIES.
But there’s a lot more to Halloween than this in the North East Inner City!
In the six weeks leading up to the festival, more than 1,000 children and young people are taking part in creative workshops, field trips and Dracula encounters.
The Big Scream is a massive community project which is run, managed and delivered by a community led steering group. People in many organisations across the North East Inner City give generously of their time and expertise to make this a bigger and better event every year. Our growing group of volunteers are equally vital to the success of this festival and are a fantastic example of community spirit at its very best.
Together, we are working to make Halloween safe and fun for everyone in the community.
