Clifden Arts Festival returns from 15–28 September with a packed programme of events for all ages, and plenty to keep families entertained across both weekends. From fairy trails and circus parades to storytelling, crafts and music, the festival offers something for every kind of curious child – and their grown-ups too. The first family-friendly highlight lands on Friday 19th, when Just A Collective brings their Culture Night Fayre to The Square. Expect DJs, handmade photo booths, circus performers, street art and pop-up surprises — all free and full of colour. Saturday afternoon sees the return of Flash Box, a walk-up booth where children can have their portrait painted in under three minutes by illustrator Marie Cazou, while over in the Town Hall, Tiny Mutiny ‘25 showcases music, dance, film and comedy created by young artists from Galway. On Sunday 21st, the ever-popular Elf & Fairy Trail invites families to dress up and explore the town on a magical scavenger hunt with fairy sightings and secret messages. The second weekend raises the energy again with Fidget Feet’s Soar A Pod, a spectacular aerial and fire performance at The Showgrounds on Friday 26th. A few minutes of walking brings you to The Square, where Saturday’s Grande Parade lights up the town with fire displays, circus stunts, floats, music and fireworks (weather permitting).
