VHI Women's Marathon

The Vhi Women’s Mini Marathon returns to the streets of Dublin this June bank holiday weekend. Set for Sunday 5th June 2025 at 12.30pm, the 10km charity road race will begin on Fitzwilliam Place, Dublin 2.

Now in its 42nd year, the world’s largest women’s event of its kind continues to attract thousands of participants from across Ireland and beyond, raising millions for a wide range of charities. Women can choose to walk, jog or run the course, with each step helping local and national causes.

From its humble beginnings in 1983 with 9,000 participants to over 1.1 million entrants to date, the Mini Marathon has inspired similar events across Europe. It remains one of Ireland’s biggest one-day charity events and a firm fixture in the summer calendar.

Skerries Midsummer Festival

Step back in time at St Patrick’s Cathedral this Saturday, 31st May, with a creative family workshop inspired by medieval manuscripts.

Children aged 6 and up can try Gothic calligraphy using real quills and ink, write their own mini booklets and decorate pages with colourful medieval-style designs. A fun way to explore the art of writing together. Free, but booking is essential.

There’s more fun on Bank Holiday Monday with a colourful drop-in art workshop, where kids aged 4+ can create vibrant foil transfer drawings in the Cathedral’s South Transept from 11am to 1pm.
